2 Player LAN game - RPG/Hack'n'Slash - Recommend me! ....

Hi all! over the festive period myself and a friend are planning a "geek out" day or two, with a bottle of whiskey to help.

It's become a bit of a tradition but I'm stuck as to what game to play this year!

So far it's been Diablo 1/Diablo 2, Baulders Gate and WoW/Everquest 2 and UO when we use to play those anyway.

I'm looking for something in the same kind of vain, hopefully completable within about 24hrs and fairly fast paced if possible. Is the Diablo 2 expansion worth doing? how does it link in with Diablo 2, and how long does it take?

I've been out of the loop for RPG type games for a year or two but I'm sure something must fit the theme, does not need to be massively up to date gfx just something very playable and fun. Can be online if need be, but I'd rather do an offline game.
 
Boarder lands is a fun game but thats more RPG/FPS.

Then there is Sacred 2 but I wasnt that impressed with it.

I dont think there is anything worth mentioning off the top of my head until D3 comes out. Which might be next year or the year after, or the year after that...
 
I was in the same boat, looking for these exact games.

I would highly recommend Borderlands though. I too was after hack and slash but after playing a few hours with Borderlands it was definatly worth picking up.
 
Cheers for the suggestions chaps, really liking the look of Titan Quest and it's got multi-player, have already put in an order for two copies! Hopefully Diablo 3 for next years adventure...

Not too sure on Borderlands, something about being a futuristic game just does not appeal as much as spells and swords.
