The HDD activity is normal and will quieten down once your drive has been indexed

Don't know if this is true but I have read Microsoft office will allow access to hotmail in vista. Anybody have any experience of this? Thanks Yes it is true. Useful for those that wish to retain their previous email.

why dont you try live mail, its hotmail but as a desktop app

Can confirm. Using Outlook 2003.

i will be installing 64bit soon. what does indexing it do?
Makes searching for files as quick as you can type what you are searching for.
If you've used a Mac its similar to Spotlight, or Linux Beagle.
To be honest I tried it in a fashon and didn't really have a clue with what it is I was doing. I simply didn't wish to change my email hotmail as a lot of important contacts use it and so I chose outlook in Office. Sometimes changing your email can feel like changing you physical address
