Hi, i had the need for an uprated power supply in my file server as it has 12 hard disk drives and only a 400watt zalman psu, i have a spare 350*** thermaltake psu and have spliced the power on wire and earth wire of both supplys together so when i turn the computer on it powers up both supplys, Would this be o.k. of would it damage my computer?

Thanks

I don't have the experience but I've seen a lot of people done that so I don't think it will do any damage as long as you did everything right.

if you follow one of the guides online, you can get it working ok, but even then it can cause additional long term stress on components making them fail earlier than they normally would... (this doesn't apply if you are using 2 identical power supplies correctly wired up)

would be much better imo to get one better PSU but you shouldn't have any problems unless you get unlucky.

I don't see why it should do that, I'd have thought it would be fine especially if using the 350 just to power the 12 HDDs for example.
