Im going to be ordering a 22" monitor by the end of the week
will my Galaxy 8600GT 256MB actually run it ok

or would i be better off waiting until i order 2x 3870s so i can be sure it will run

the 8600gt is not anywhere close to the 3870. It depends on which games, but for any decently modern game, the 8600GT will be terrible on a 22'' LCD (or any display for that matter).

I would get an 8800GT if you can't afford it.

I have a 22" and am fine with a 7900GS, I assume a 8600GT is around the same power?

Depends what you play I suppose

I'm pretty sure the 8600GT is a good deal slower than a 7900GS, especially so at higher resolutions due to the 128bit memory interface.

well i got a asus P5E mobo so its a crossfire mobo
so im going with ati whatever happens
i just wondered whether it would be worth me buying it now or when i got the cards
