My eldest lad has asked me to post these questions...

1) I will spend extra money to reduce risk of failure/problems with the 360 range, but don't want to spend money unnecessarily, which model of Xbox to buy please?

2) Is it true that all 360s are sold with a free 3 year warranty.

Thanks on his behalf if you reply.

1. Any of the newer models should be a falcon check the box or ask where you buy that its a version 2 360 (175w)

2. 3 year warranty against the 3 red quadrant failure, after the first year i'd still recommend an extended warranty for all the other failures that may occur (personal preference)

Exactly what he said ^

I'd also add that the best model to get regardless of reliability (they should all be the same if you get a falcon) is the Pro, comes with nearly everything you need.

premium is the best bang for your buck, the elite is just not worth the extra and the arcade isn't cheap enough for what it lacks.

you get a 1 year complete warrenty, which will cover any problem you have with the 360, and a 3 year warrenty on hardware failure (this is expressly for use in the event of the red ring of death.

and as said above, anything sold now *should* be the newest revision but it's easy enough to check at the store.

i think the elite is worth that extra cash.

Id go along with the premium offering the best deal. MS will probably bring out another SKU soon enough to topple the Elite, and at the moment there really isnt the need for the bigger hard drive.
