Hi all,

I've just managed to get Thunderbird working with hotmail since doing a reformat and when i view my inbox i have to double click the emails to view them whereas before i reformatted i just clicked on them and there was a preview pane. How do i get this back?

Also, uTorrent doesn't seem to want to close with windows and i end up with the 'This Program is not responding' dialog box.

Thanks :)

what version of utorrent you using?, personally i would reccomend azereus but anyway
1.4.1 BETA

I've never tried any other programs cause i like utorrent so much :p

i would admit utorrent is easy to use, currently my other machine uses 1.4 and seems to work fine, it might be better to use a stable version rather than the BETA as it is still in development

Do you think that'll fix the problem?

I've got active downloads, will i be able to just carry them on with the other version of utorrent?

Thanks :)

i used to use utorrent for a while, best win client imho, but It did start acting weird. Torrents would dissappear and stuff. but still download.

Anyway, back to good old btlaunchmanycurses on a headless linux box. Never failed me.

You should just be able to copy your part downloaded files to your new d/l dir and your next torrent program will continue where they left off...

I thought that was the case, thanks :)

i tried using uTorrent and got stupidly slow torrents like 2kb/s, tried the same torrents with trusty BitComet and were getting speeds of 240kb/s?

you have to forward the right port for utorrent to work (mick)

mark, i've never had a problem with utorrent not closing to be honest, try a newer beta or the non beta version

Anybody know how to get Thunderbird working how i like it?
Try pressing the F8 button.

Or, more verbosely, View->Layout->Message Pane

Cheers

Paul.
