Is it possible to have 2 routers set up in the same house, ones a dg834 v3 wired one and the other is a dg834gt which is wireless. The reason i want this is because i hate wireless. My pc is upstairs which i use for gaming and my xbox 360 which is downstairs keeps dropping out when its connected to the wireless. I get sick of taking the router up and down when i want to use one or the other so is it possible to set them both up together? If so how and will it affect the performance?

You set one up as the main, make sure it has DHCP enabled. The other one, you set up all the wireless details on it and disable DHCP. Then, plug an ethernet cable from the main one to a LAN port on the wireless one.

So basically i need to have a wire trailing from upstairs to downstairs?

I guess that sounds like the best idea i'll have to read up on them and see what the quality is like or will it be the same as plugging it straight into my router. Any you would recommend?

Thanks.

If you still want wireless, you can pick up a wireless powerline adaptor. Although they are rather costly. Either that or pick up a normal one and use the cable method (plug cable from main in to powerline, then from the 2nd adaptor, run another cable to wireless router).

im currently running a thread here about Powerline Adapters http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18360074
I have an BT Comtrend Powerline HD Ethernet Female Kit, 200Mbps.
Im thinking about getting my own gaming pc, and not sure if they would lagg or have low response time ingame. however, if you do decide to puchase some powerline adapters, could you please tell me what it's like when playing online?

cheers, CrixxzeH.
