2 routers vs 1 router and a specific bridge/adapter?

So shall I stomach the cost of the 2nd router now or wait till the ea-ac87 media bridge is out? Are you saying the media bridge wont give me anything more than the 2nd router will? Will the 2nd router be an advantage over the bridge in any way?

Super fast speeds across the network - that is all. See here:

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2597549/asus-rt-ac87u-wi-fi-router-review-yes-it-s-fast.html

As that review very clearly shows, without another router as a bridge (in lieu of the media bridge coming out) its not very fast. Im trying to work out whether I should keep my 2nd router and use that or whether to ebay it as its still not unboxed, and put up with slower speeds until the bridge is out

Why bottlenecked by the cable? Surely I get 1gb through the cable?

I basically want the higher rather than lower figures in that table - that is achievable either by adding another router OR the bridge when it comes out

Thanks Bremen. That's right, that's what I am trying to achieve.

So based on that, given that my second router is likely to cost more than the media bridge, perhaps I should just wait for it and sell the 2nd router now? (To avoid any confusion, I have two 87u - one in use downstairs and feeing powerline Ethernet, the other still boxed for use with the upstairs computer).

What I was essentially asking was whether using that 2nd router could be justified from a cost perspective if it gives me something the media bridge never will?
