hi all, i've currently got a Benq G2320 and decided to add a second G2320 to my setup.

One is running over VGA and the other over DVI. Does anyone know why the colours may be showing slightly differently in between two monitors? Like when I put a window half and half you can see a difference in the colour. Its like one has the colour temp set to warm and the other doesn't, however the monitor settings are identical and I can't see anything in the monitor/display options on the machine itself which may be causing the problem.

I first noticed it whilst using Photoshop though. Really weird! Anyone know whats going on?

the monitor settings can't be identical if you are using VGA an DVI.... it's a seperate signal path. The VGA has to be converted to digital before display using a ADC, the DVI by it's native is already digital therefore will display without all of that. Firstly try swapping the screens around I don't mean physically I mean use the VGA on one and the DVI on the opposite one.

No two panels will ever be the same. It's nothing to do with the interface being used.

One of the reasons people calibrate their monitors.

usually they will be close if the serial number is simular. however, lost of monitor manufacturers use different components (including the LCD panels) from different manufacturers. it's expected so best thing to do it calibrate them!

I've noticed that Benq are (or seem to be) one of the worst monitors for showing different colours on two identical monitors. Even playing with all the colour controls I couldn't get the two to look the same.

However, I've now got 2 Dell 2412's at home and they are pretty much identical after calibration.

Hmmm weird.

I'm positive its something to do with a colour profile actually in Photoshop but I've messed with settings and cant get it to work. Its not just a slight difference, its quite a noticeable difference in Photoshop - for example if I've got a predominantly white document i'm working on, if I move it over to the other monitor it changes to a like an off white/browny tinge.

But it doesn't do it automatically, when i'm dragging the document across the colours stay pretty much the same but when I let it go and maximise Photoshop on that monitor the colour changes so thats why i'm thinking it may be a photoshop issue....
