Hi

I have WinXP and a PC with 2 SATA hard drivers.

I want to swap the SATA cables that go into the mobo over but if i do this i get a system error and it won't boot. Does that mean i have to leave the SATA boot drive always on the same connection to the mobo?

thanks

Unless your BIOS gives you the option of which specific HDD to boot from then your stuck with the cables in the order they are. My BIOS certainly allows this (A8N-SLi32) as have previous boards so I think it may be a case of having a dig about. You may only have an HDD option in the BIOS with a separate menu option to select which HDD.

thanks for that

i have an ASUS A8N-e so i'll have a root about in BIOS and see what i can find

cheers
