Is it possible to run two screens with different resolutions. Im currently using a 24" benq fp241w as my main display, (1920x1200), im gonna be getting myself a 32" 1080p, (1920x1080) lcd telly which id like to hook up to the pc for blu ray movie use and possibly a bit of gaming. Can this be done easily, only ever used a single screen so i have no understanding of dual screen use at all.

there are a whole bunch of different options i have hooked up a variety of sizes of screens to my comp at the same time and i am able to adjust them all individually.

Aye, it should be a pretty simple affair. Myself, I use the rig in my sig with a 32in 720p TV as a second screen and it was a doddle to set up.

I'd be happy to give you details of how to do it, could you just tell me what your OS is and what brand of GPU you are using?

Cheers guys, andi, i havent got the tv just yet but id appreciate any info you could give me. My os is win 7 64 hp and the gpu's are 2 x gtx 275's in sli, rest of my rig is an i7, p6t dlx v2, 6gb ocz ram, asus xonar dx pcie soundcard.

:) In that case I should be able to tell you exactly how you can get it all to work with minimal fuss:

- Install TV in 2nd DVI port of your primary graphics card
- Turn on TV and windows should recognise it (might want to check it is running in "game mode" or similar)
- Go to Nvidia control panel and in the "set up multiple displays" tab, select "dualview"
- Ensure your monitor and TV are set to the correct resolutions in the nvidia control panel
- Go into the "screen resolution" part of Windows control panel. Move the TV to the correct side of the monitor by dragging and dropping and adjust the vertical alignment as needed. #
- If you have any issues with scaling, go into the Nvidia control panel again and there is an option called "resize HDTV desktop". This will allow you to resize the desktop on the TV so it uses up all the pixels.

In most video applications (I use the KMPlayer) you can set it to be "always on top". Therefore you can fullscreen the video on the TV and click the mouse on the main monitor and the video will still run full-screen without any issues.

In games, there is usually an option for "borderless window mode", in this mode the game will look like it is fullscreen, but windows (or a video) will still be fully visible on the other monitor/TV.
