Question 1
Ok currently I have a GTX 670 and am currently trying to decided on if worth upgrading 2 a new single gpu or to go SLI. Is it worth ging SLI or should I just try and save for a new single card. The 670 basicly eats everything I throw at it most of the time unless I play something like skyrim heavily modded then it showing its age.

Question 2
I have the Gigabyte 670 2gb with 980MHz core. Generally I know most GPU can be SLI as long as the same card and ram amount but with the gigabyte having a slightly higher clock speed than the standard would I have to get another Gigabyte one or could I get away with say using an msi that has a 965MHz Core?

670's in sli are pretty quick, but theyre limited by vram a bit with newer games, (2gb models). Theres also the increased power use and heat. You can sli any two 670's as long as both have the same amount of vram. Clock wise its fine to have one card that is clocked higher than the other. They will run fine at their individual clocks. Im assuming your current card is the triple fan windforce edition, ideally you dont want two of theese in sli. Particularly if your motherboard has tightly spaced pcie slots and case air intake isnt good.

Case should not be a problem as I have the haf x and motherboard is the GA-Z77X-UD5H so plenty of space. Saying that I would generally go for the cheapest card I could atm so would be a auction site or members market job. I was under the impresion that if I added another 670 it would double my effective vram = to 4gb is this right?

Max resolution is 1920x1080. Generally all latest games and Skyrim supper modded. Seems to push the gpu more than other games

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X

Im afraid vram doesnt double in sli, you still only have 2gb to use. Personally if you could save a few quid and sell the 670, you could upgrade to an nvidia gtx 970 or from AMD theres the 290 series that are quite well priced now. 4gb on either of theese will help with a game like modded skyrim which i believe is pretty demanding.
