2 very quick iPhone questions!

Hi all,

1) How much is a well used iPhone 4 worth to sell? (I can't remember the memory size.)

2) Can you use an existing Orange PAYG sim card in it?

If its unlocked, yes. If its locked, then you'll only be able to use it if its locked to Orange.

Also, Make sure its a micro sim (Or mini, whatever they're called)

Search ebay, size is very important and could mean the difference between £200 and £300+.

Thanks guys! Someone has offered me a used one for about £50, y'see.

I don't really need it as I hardly ever use my phone (hence why I have an Orange PAYG cheapish phone at the moment and want to keep my number). But it seems like a good price.

£50 for an iphone 4 is too cheap. are you sure it is not stolen?

If it's legit at £50 buy it then sell it on. It's worth at least four times that.

Oh, definitely legit. It's a family member who is upgrading to the iPhone 5 when it comes out. The phone is very well used.

Tell your family member to have a look at the phone recycling schemes the mobile company's run. They don't pay as much as you get on the bay, but it'll definitely be more than £50. I've used the O2 one twice with no issues.

He could also ring Orange and ask them to unlock it, costs £20 to do though and enjoy getting the customer service to actually do the unlock. Had a nightmare myself with them trying to get them to unlock mine.

Start by checking sites like: http://www.o2recycle.co.uk/

That gives you the bare minimum. Then check completed listings on eBay and don't forget to factor in the listing/final value & PayPal fee's.

Don't say that lol. I rang to get mine unlocked on Friday and and still waiting to hear anything. I'm not entirely sure they took down my email address correctly since a lot of people seem to spell my surname wrong. Did you get a text too?
