will i have better gains and more FPS with just getting 2 x 980ti rather than keeping the 3 way 980s i already have .. i game in 4k and even running F1 2015 im struggling to get 40fps as it only uses the 1 card . in all my games i can max out with everything on ultra accept Project cars where the AA is turned off and i get a solid 75fps (monitor clocked to 75hz) .

A friend wants to buy all 3 cards off me and i only have to add £100 to get 2 Zotac cards from here .

Go for it. SLI scaling past 2 cards isn't very good and for 4k you'll definately need more than 4gb of Vram.
Sell those 980s while they're still valuable.

P.S. The raw maximum fps should be similar, but some games will be much smoother.

Fail of the century if you don't do this.

Small bonus but 1 less card, less power draw? Less heat?

i would not be thinking about it i would just do it, the extra ram can onky help 4k, im even thinking of swapping out my 980 sli for a ti, the only thing stopping me is im too lazy to try and sell the 980's
