I'm looking to get 2GB of PC4400 or whatever that'll do DDR600 in my DFI NF4 Ultra-D. Anyone got such ram and does it take a lot of configuring to get it working or is it just a case of buying TCCD based sticks and it's good to go?

Main reason is to run my X2 4200+ at 3GHz with 300 x 10 with the memory at 1:1 so I can enable Cool n Quiet and run RMClock so it clocks lower when idle to keep it quiet.

2Gb @ 300mhz is very rare the last time I was looking at 2Gb kits for DDR, and aint muchs changed.

Some people managed 300mhz 3-4-4-8 etc but most were 280-290mhz 3-4-4-8.

Better to get some 250mhz sticks that do 2.5-3-3-7 or something... :)

It's tough with 2x1GB, but the 2x512MB are much more likely to hit DDR600. PC4400 RAM 2x512MB should hit DDR600 at 3-3-3-8. I've had two sets and the first did DDR600 and the second I haven't even opened so I'm selling.

You may well get 2x1GB PC4400 but it'll be very hard to find.

You can get 300mhz TCCD! Mine G.Skill LE did 300 2.5-4-3-7 but no way of getting 2gb on AMD with 4x512Mbs...

2x1Gb @ 250mhz 2.5-3-3-7 tbh :)

Damn I was hoping for it to be easy. :D

I'm at 273 x 11 currently for 3GHz so I guess if I could try find something that would do 273 and it would be fine. As you say it might be tough to find and 2 x 512MB isn't enough these days as 2GB is the minimum I want as it'll be running Vista and some games even on XP need the 2GB.

Yea, 273 on a 166 divider is 227mhz, which my G.Skill ZX 2Gb kit does at 2.5-3-3-6 @ 2.7V :) and it goes up to about 240/245 at those timings :)

Thing is I don't want to use a divider if I can help it so I can enable Cool n Quiet without issues and with that the system will downclock/lower volts when idle/light use but run at the full 3GHz when the system is heavily used.

The only 2x1GB kit that has ever got close to what you want is the Crucial Ballistix. Unfortunately it would quite reliably die after a few months.

CnC doesn't downclock using FSB, thats why the lower multi's are enabled...

When using a divider the memory speed changes when CnQ drops the multiplier so it can end up running at settings it can't handle causing the system to crash but with 1:1 it always runs at the same speed.

You Wanna look for some Geil One TCCD memory,
DDR600 @ 2.5-7-4-4 timings,

They only do 1GB kits so yoy'll need to look for 2 kits, very rare but try looking on the bay for some. ;)

GSkill do DDR600 kits too.

as someone mentioned, the only 1g DDR1 thats got a hope is the crucial ballistix PC4000 stuff. mine does (did when new, not tried since) ~283 @ 3-3-3-8 1T. (2.9V) i tried a run at 300 3-3-3-8 1T. posted fine, racked up a lot of memtest errors. never tried 3-4-4-10 or 2T
