Mmmm... Looking at either for my new build :

2x

1GB EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB, 40nm, 4104MHz GDDR5, GPU 850MHz, Shader 1700MHz, 384 Cores

or 1 x

1536MB Palit GTX 580, 40nm, 4020MHz GDDR5, GPU 783MHz, Shader 1544MHz, 512 Cores, DP/ HDMI/ DL DVI-I

The 2 560's work out about £392 and the Palit 580 at £366 so a £26 saving.

I'm enjoying Nvidia's 3D Vision. Would the 2 560's provide a better experience ?

Thanks for that. Good advice and info. My system will probably have ( I hope ) a 64gb SSD and 4HD's.

Just been trawling around for info and it appears that the 2 560's would be better than the single 580 for 3D Vision and thats what concerns me about the single 580.

Looking at the SLI 560 benchmarks for Metro in 3D it looks the way to go especially as it would be sometime before I could justify a second 580 !

Also looks like my new Corsair HX 580 will do just nicely for 560 SLI.

Still not 100% sold though. Still looking for info and the cash for the card ( s ) lol !

Cheers bee for the excellent post pushing me toward 2 x 560's !

Another question. How does the SLI setup cope with older games. I enjoy the old flight sims like Il2. Would the SLI setup cause probs with older software ?

Is it possible to disable one card in software ?

Money... Now their lies the problem lol ! So ANOTHER spanner in the works then. I'm going to be running at 1920x1080.

Looking now at the 570 which is 100 notes less than the cheapest 580. Is the 580 worh 100 quid extra.

Bit of a learning curve here lol

Well i've decided and it may seem like a bit of a come down. I'm going to go for a single 560. It will save me the cash I need but give me the option of adding another later if needed for not much more cost.

Thanks for all the advice !

Well even the Mrs is getting p##### off with me know going on about this all the time lol !

I've done a 180 again. Going for a GTX 580. Going to order tonight.

Now which one ...mmmm OH FFS !!!

Good idea..... But.... This is the first time in about 20 years that I've been able to buy the best components I want without having to compromise... Might never get another chance !!

So. Ive just clicked the order button on .......

1280MB EVGA GTX 570 SC, 40nm, 3900MHz GDDR5, GPU 797MHz, Shader 1594MHz, 480 Cores, 2x DL DVI/ mHDMI

LOL !!! Saved myself £100 but with the option of adding another later :-)

Thanks for all the advice and help to all !
