hey peeps,

quick intro, im Simon from Leicester, 22 years old, and a computer whore! haha!

well ive got a couple of cards laying about but nothing major really, old ones which ive had for years etc,

my rig:

AMD x2 6000+
Asus M2N32 WS Motherboard
2GB Corsair Twin XMS ram (800mhz)
2 x 6800Ultras in SLi (x16 , x16 speed)
2 x 160GB Hardrives and 1 x 320GB Hardrive
730W Hiper PSU
Thermaltake Soprano Case

now i think the 6800Ultras have had there day, although they havent let me down, but thinking of an upgrade,

what card you guys reckon? 8800GTX ? or 8800GT? maybe even in SLi?

cheers simon!

I would recommend the 8800GT 512mb or 8800GTS 512mb. Both are very close to GTX performance, especially if your monitor resolution is below 1920x1200. The GTX is a great card (especially if like lots of AA at high resolution) but it's well over year old, doesn't fit in all cases (really long), quite power hungry and still carries a little price premium. Imho, the 8800GT is the best card to get since it will be good stop gap untill the new Geforce 9 series comes out.

Finally if you get any of the cards above, you should get about 2-4x the peformance of your 6800Ultras in SLi.
