Hi all

Hope a good percentage of you are well

I'm just looking for advice from people who have this set up (or close to it) and/or wise words from those who don't have this set up but know their stuff.

Simple question... If I bought another 7950 (due to new low prices) and crossfired them, would you expect my 8350 to struggle?

The old silicon lottery seems to have given me a decent 8350 as it can go higher than 4.5GHz quite easily.

I know it ain't an exact science... so what do you say?

It'll bottleneck.

But it's not going to give you unplayable frame rates, you just won't be getting the full benefit of them (And likely to perform as though you've got a lower set up, say closer to a 7870 Crossfire or whatnot)

Although this is more gaming side as opposed benchmarks (Synthetics I mean) as most games will have half your CPU twiddling its thumbs.
In future games, the bottleneck is going to become less and less (But obviously we can't actually say for definite how it'll end up)

Interesting... I may stick as I am or wait to see what 680 prices are like.

Yes, I may well do that. I just watched Tom Logan's Oc3D video on the new AMD cards, and he says that they are basically not much more than a rebrand and advised crossfiring instead of going for a 290. Thanks.

Why not hope all of us are well?....I hope you are well...lol

Or are there certain ones of us you don't wish well... and who are they...lol

Well, I am just trying to be realistic. I did give it some consideration, and came to the conclusion that some people out there will have had something terrible happen to them, just because of the law of averages. I didn't want them sitting there thinking, "Doing well? Go take a flying leap, buddy!"

But I love everybody one here, and their families and pets, too. You, my friend, are naturally included in this admiration, as well.

Best
