Hi all,

I recently bought a 2nd 360 to play through my router. I've been playing a lot of CoD4 and noticed a lot more lag and "connection interrupted" icons since we've had the 2 xboxes, is tyhere anything I'm missing I should configure?

I am with Virgin on their 4mb down service (dont know how much upstream I have but think its 256kb)

Not had any issues at my house with 3 360's on XBL at once except for CoD4 having pathetic network code and not allowing 2 systems on the same router to play CoD4 at once.

It's very much a CoD4 issue and I have no problems in any other online game.

Got a PS3/360/WII/2 PCs/3 Laptops on my Netgear DG834G v3 router on a 3mb/832kbps connection.

Don't really notice lag unless someone is downloading a update or something.

Granted most of the time its only 2PCs/2 laptops/360/PS3 on at any 1 time :-P

Thats annoying, this is the only game I bought another Xbox for :( It does work (spent 6-7 hrs on it yesterday) I just seem to be getting more lag than normal

Me and the Girlfriend have played COD4, FIFA etc etc at the same time, her on her 360, me on mine and never experienced any extra lag.

Mine didn't work at all when 2 people tried to get into the same game on CoD4, but this was a few months ago now.

wonder what the issue is, or if I could open any ports etc to make it better? The problem would be though which console to open the ports for.

I have had 2 360's a Wii and a PS3 on the network at the sametime through a homehub and it worked fine. Live is optimised for dial up connections so should be fine.

COD4 multiplayer is mince in general. I always get problems with it dropping connection as well. looks like it could just be a game issue rather than your network or current bandwidth usage.

Say what?

You won't encounter lag, providing your connection has an upload speed of >256kbps.

You might encounter trouble though with NAT routing, as the two 360s would essentially conflict for one set of incoming ports.

So it's best if you can put them on seperate public IPs.
