Whilst browsing through old t'internet accounts I found an old profile on Virtual hideout which I had years ago, I was quite surprised to find the "case mod" gallery still visible there and my old setup was there! - wow it doesn't seem like it in retrospect but the difference from then to now is major lol.

The desk is different too!

In fact the only thing that remains the same is the amp :p

Cannot believe I used to have red carpet and green walls :o

Very nice mate.

And TSJ, your sig is really really annoying now. lol :p

I think it's nice :)

Nice desk too mate.. where did ya get it?

It's ok :)

The desk was salvaged from my dads workplace when they had their 3yr "upgrade" - not even Ikea can beat the longevity of an office desk!

Nice Set up Indeed,

Good to see that you have audiophile ambitions along with your PC addiction! LOL Gets a tad expensive!!!!

I would be intrested to know what sound card you have?

I never used to trust PC Audio untill I discovered that if I have all my music saved on my hard drive im not going to have to fork out to buy new copies of my scratched ones anymore.

How are you connecting your AMP to your PC? Im using very expensive RCA £100+ hooked into a 3.5 converter jack which I aint happy about!!! Ahhhh

Try optical mate... much better ;)

In the old setup I had a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz which I have had since like 2004ish - it rocked!

I had some cheap RCA<>3.5mm cable which I then replaced with some TechLink interconnect cable (same format but much more expensive) I got through a guy I met at work who used to be able to get audio gear at trade prices.

I also got the stereo receiver off him for £35 back in 2004, it's a great piece of kit and sounds better than newer equivalent models/brands I have attempted to upgrade to a few times.

Now I have an X-Fi Gamer as I needed more punch in games, thankfully the music and movie sound quality seems to be unchanged over the Santa Cruz and I really like the XFi as I was dreading the return to Creative soundcards after having a few bad experiences with the Soundblaster range before the Santa Cruz.

I'll get a new receiver eventually though as I want to use optical out instead of analogue as I've been told it's less prone to interference and sends out a cleaner signal so the next step up will be that I reckon. No plans to go surround sound anytime soon, stereo is how I like it :)

P.S. my old speakers are up for grabsies ^_^

Thanks for the reply. If your sticking with 2 channel ever heard of BALANCED INPUTS. Your RCA is unbalanced and therefore prone to interference, look it up quite intresting the way it works.

But i'm a dreamer!!! The kit to go along with it would costs £xxxxx's so optical would probably be more cost effective.

Anyway :)

'Scuse me sonny, could you tell me what size you think you've been storing your signature at? Are you aware that the limit for this area is 20 Kilobytes?

A newly recruited officer reported sightings of your signature existing at sizes exceeding the legal limit, please bear in mind in the future that this can be very hazardous for both you and other board users.

i remember wasting time at college 6 years ago browsing through the gallery of modded and overclocked comps :)
