I need a big monitor mainly to view text/internet/gaming. It will not be used for movies at all (I have a front projection system for that). Ive been looking around and the only monitor that seems to do the job is the Dell 2007fp. The problem with this is that it is priced at around £265, which is not far off the price of a 24" widescreen monitor.
I realise that widescreen is all the rage, but to me it makes no sense at all to have a widescreen monitor if I have no intention to watch movies on it. Some people say that you can have 2 web pages open side by side, but on anything less than a 28" widescreen monitor I dont think this would be realistic, given that the windows/text would be very small.
Has anyone got any recommendations?
