20-22" Widescreen for Uni

I was looking to get another monitor for uni because living off my 13" laptop screen for the past year was doing my head in.

First off, will my laptops gfx card (128mb NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS) be able to cope with a 22"+ monitor well enough?

I currently have a Dell 2407WFP 24" at home and am looking for something slightly easier to transport and that wont take up quite as much space on my desk... will getting a 22" or 20" really make much of a difference in this regard? I think I read somewhere that text on a 20" or 22" isn't as sharp as on a 24"?

I'll mostly be using it for watching movies, bit of gaming and general browsing. I quite like my current dell so what do people think of the Dell Ultrasharp 2208WFP 22" or the Dell Ultrasharp 2009WFP 20" or the Dell SP2208WFP 22"

Budget is £200-250.. maybe up to £300. Another thing worth mentioning is my laptop only has a VGA and a HDMI port, no DVI.
Also I was contemplating getting an xbox 360 so which monitor would be good for that?

get http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-051-SA (i know its out of stock) but when im home from uni its the best thing ever to use it (i have the older 205 moddle but its still amazing). Anyway for the graphics card id be very supprised if it doesnt work, i use my uni laptop on it and its fine (i have an x1300 with 128meg of ram) but it probably wont be too good for gaming with lots of features on... (would recomend a propper pc for that really)

I've got a Dell 20+ widescreen in something like 1680*1050 on my piece-o-crap machine at work, that's got some poxy on-board graphics card and handles non-gaming just fine.
