I'm stuck as to which screen to get.

I have my eyes on the Dell Ultrasharp 2007FP 20.1" for its 1600 x 1200 max res, but its 60Hz refresh rate is a bit on the down side.

I was looking for something along the lines of...

-Non widescreen
-20"
-1600 x 1200
-75Hz refresh rate

Is the 60Hz refresh rate really a downside. When I got my current 19" I was disappointed to find its refresh rate was 75Hz; I could tell the step down from 85Hz.

Can any of you give any help to this? Any of you with a 60Hz screen find it poor when it comes to multimedia such as games?

Thanks

Refresh rates on TFT are generally always 60hz. It's not a performance factor in TFTs as it is in CRTs, due to the nature of the way they function. Response time is the equivilant deciding factor now.

The way TFT's refresh means that the 60hz rate is irrelevent now, only applies to CRT's. All TFT's have a refresh rate of 60Hz as standard.

most TFT's will support 75Hz as a maximum refresh rate setting, but as has been said above, they are designed to run at 60Hz anyway. They don't operate in the same way as CRT's do in this regard so don't get bogged down with this aspect.
