£20 per person - Bristol - Where?

Hi all.

Parents are coming down at the weekend and want to go out for dinner on Sunday night. They've told me they want to spend about £20 a person for a main and a drink, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Being a student I've not really been to many even half nice restaurants around here so I'm completely stuck at where to look.

They won't want anything too exotic, something that serves good 'pub' food would do them nicely....

Anyone got any suggestions?

At £20 a head, i would have thought you've be limited to the usual suspects:

ASK
Pizza Express
Prezzo

Or a slightly posh pub like the living room.

Goldbrick House has a nice restaurant, but will be a bit more than £20 a head. And after you've finished you can pop across to the cocktail bar. Browns at the top of Park Street is another similar option.

That's hardly true, really, places like the Cowshed are in budget for £20 or so (main meal is about £15-17, plus a drink, about £20ish, and are definitely nicer than Pizza express and the like.

Sergios is a really good italian place, probably be about 20-25 per person for a main and drinks.

I went in the Severnshed yesterday and that was pretty good. Mains Were £10-£16 more for the better cuts of steak. It was a nice place, and pretty busy.
