Are these safe to use? My current PSU is 20 pin to comply with my motherboard, but as i'm getting a new motherboard ie Asus A8N-SLI SE will a 20 to 24 pin adapter suffice, or will i need a new PSU. Despite this board supporting SLI i won't be using it as of yet (can't afford another big ass 7800GT). I've also got the 4 pin ATX connector so its just whether or not the 20-24 pin will be ok to use.

I never tried using one myself but 2 of my friends have used them in the past with no issues, with your power psu only being generic I'd definitly make it a priority upgrade tho.

I bought one and use it on my ATX V1.3 Enermax PSU and DFI NF4 mobo without issue, but I also read that it works fine without one.
