Ok, it sounds obscure but this is an actual problem. I have a Bitfenix Shinobi case, which is great, and the front panel USB is connected to the Mobo by the 20 pin header which works fine. However....

I bought a Bitfenix card reader for the machine (in matches the outisde!) and that, too, uses the 20 pin header. My mobo and my son's for that matter which he bought a few weeks ago, only has one 20 pin header!

So, is there an adaptor out there which would allow me to connect both my front panel USB sockets and my card reader?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Dude,

I have had a look for you and as expected, you can get PCI express cards which have 2 or more external USB 3 ports and an extra internal 20 pin USB 3 header. They are around £20 though.

OCUK seems not to have any but I found one on a a certain website named after a rather large rainforest in Brazil
Syba 2 Port USB 3.0 with 19 Pin USB 3.0 Header PCI Express 2.0 x1 Card

Thanks, Danny, but I looked at these are they are to convert the USB 3.o header to USB connectors and not the other way round.

Thanks, Walder, I see that OCUK do a USB 3.0 card that does the same thing and have a 20 pin connector on board so this seems like the way to go with the bonus that the ports on the card are powered so are good for things that draw power - like charging phones for example.

Ah nice, I did a quick search and didn't find anything here but only did 1 quick search :)

I've seen a couple available in the US try searching for "20-Pin USB 3.0 Internal Header Y Splitter Cable" one might come up in the UK.

Andi.
