Hi im looking for a tft around 20" maybe slightly bigger preferably with 1680x1080 res with HDCP support, DVI, and component inputs for under 500 quid,

is there anyhting like this out there?

how is the gateway on specs for gaming? i am considering it but ui dnt know how good it is. plus also how much would it be to get shipped over from US?

Lastly is there any HD complient monitors at 21" coming to UK soon for aorund £300-£400? like in next 1-2months?

I'd budget $100 just to be on the safe side. Also helps if you've got friends in the US who can send one over as it'll likely be stopped by customs and you'll have to pay a pretty hefty amount if you order it from a website. Then you've also got to consider the cost of a stepdown converter due to the 120V. And there are added issues if the monitor has a fault.... :p

Personally I'm really looking for a 23-24" monitor for 1080p support (it's a pity 21" monitors fall just short), but if I fail to produce the money then this'll be my backup.

You could wait a little while for the DELL 2007FPW, which should fit the bill nicely.

don't think the 2007 does HDCP.

Damn - its often hard to tell as most manufacturers don't list HDCP under the specs for some reason. Frankly, I just find it odd that any company would release non-HDCP compliant monitors when Vista is just around the corner.

Found this in the European documentation for the 2007FPW at http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/2007WFP/en/index.htm under "Video Problems":

Check if DVD player is HDCP compliant.
*Some non-compliant players may exhibit blinking video and others will display a raster screen.

Presumably it is has some issues with non-compliant DVD players, then I would hazard a guess that it is HDCP-compliant. Problem is, you can't really tell until HDCP-only HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are released.
