I received an email offering me a £20 voucher for Waitrose. When I click on the print button I get redirected to bricks.couponmicrosite.net and Firefox issues a warning about a java plugin having security issues.

Im a bit reluctant to continue. Does anyone know if this is genuine ?

I had a similar encounter with a £50 voucher from Amazon this weekend, flagged as spam, however the email was from: [email protected], so seemed somewhat OK.

Hovered over the redeem button to see it linked through Tiny url. Flagged it up to Amazon customer services & they confirmed it was a scam/malware/etc.

Not sure if it's the new thing that's being done? The email was identical to Amazon's template for emails as well.

Java can also be used to download malware, keyloggers and backdoors without your permission without you knowing, after you've accepted the permissions for the java applet to run (google java drive-by). Personally I wouldn't trust the website.

Google "couponmicrosite.net"

Plenty of links to the site from legit places such as moneysavingexpert and hotukdeals.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess it uses java to put a unique serial code/identifier on the coupon, otherwise I could make multiple vouchers.

I'll print it when I get home.
