Hey guys. I need a small and cheap build for my mum.

This is just purely for internet browsing, emails, using word etc and doing some college work for her course.

Eventually it will come to me so I can use it as a little back up server and store files/videos etc.

Prefer it to be small and quiet if possible.

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

A nuc? For what it's required for a single hard drive or ssd is enough and the Intel graphics should be plenty, celeron should do, though you might get an i3 or whatever the latest editions to that family are plus you could mount it to a screen or anywhere you want if you se Velcro, That is of course you don't really need a tower.

Just an idea..

Cheapest ram OC has doesn't say L at the end of DDR3 nor is it in stock, but there's enough budget to get a stick from somewhere.

Anything this low budget can be sorted cheaply by getting a second hand computer as a complete system and installing a fresh copy of the OS.

I think you might get more for you money second hand as well, you have enough posts for members market have you checked there?
