£200 budget for 1440p gaming monitor.

Hey guys.
I've been playing on 1080p standard for time now, and wanted to venture into 1440p - thing is im not entirely sure how it works.
So i can get a 1440p monitor but the resolution will be 1920/1080p. But for 1440p the resolution has to go up to 2560/1440?

My rig is fairly decent buying a new 5800X3D processor and a temporary RTX 3080 2nd hand (this will be upgraded at the end of the year)
Monitors im seeing are things like the koouri on amazon, with suggestions to only the the IPS version - but then you see reviews saying its still pants and has "ghosting" could any of you lovely blokes just point me to the monitor i need for £200 or under.
Its for gaming and browsing with occasional live recording of a game im playing.

would you be looking for 27' monitor ? The Dell G2724D is 1440p and sometimes on offer around £200

Yes 27 - i have a few eye sensitivities any monitor larger than that and it makes it hard work.

Well for a start your system should be fine for 1440p generally, you can even wait for the 5000-series to drop to upgrade (and beyond really!).

i thought that too, the 7800XT card is pretty much on par with the 3080, the new super series for me have been a bit meh.

Yeah cant seem to find any in stock, cheapest i found was £219.

Acer nitro XV271UM3B - 219 on amazon, had a guy directly tell me he owns that and the ISP koouri - he says its way better than the koouri. It has a 0.5nm response time.

Next up is the AOC Gaming C27G2ZU - its curved might make it easier on my eyes, and im sure its saying it does 240hz, reviews seem decent not many fake bot reviews. Edit scratch that one too its 1080p gah wtf

How high a refresh rate do you need? The Iiyama GB2745QSU-B1 does 100 Hz and is within your budget

144 Hz is what ive seen touted as the sweet spot - im learning some stuff today about monitors thats for sure.

At this moment in time i think this is the only one close to my price range.
LG-27GR75Q 27 (£219)
27 inch - 2560/1440 res / 165hz max refresh.

ha yeah - i tried putting the code in from the screen shot, and signed up to a couple of the sites - they wanted NHS emails or codes. No go.
