hey looking to buy a card for around £200, cant decide between these

OcUK MSI GeForce 7900 GTO SILENT 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (£199.74)

OR

Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (3056) (£223.24)

also is there much of a difference in the 256mb version of the ati card to the 512mb?

gto is faster
I think there is a typo here, at stock the GTO is slower.

Anyway if youre playing at normal resolutions on 17 /1 9" LCD screens etc then a 256MB card will easily handle that & the X1900XT 256MB (to save a little money) or the Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 XT 256MB GDDR3 would be great choices. The X1950XT obviously is the fastest of the lot.

X1900XT 512 > 7900GTO > X1900XT 256

For me it would be the X1900XT 512, every time. Stonking card for the money.

Or you can find an X1950XT 256mb for around £170, which I guess has a slight benefit over the X1900XT 256mb with it's 1800mhz GDDR3.

I'd be tempted to choose the 7900GTO over the X1900XT 512 simply because there isn't an awful lot between the two and the 7900 is ~£23 cheaper

I have a 7900GTO here and an X1900XTX, after overclocking the GTO is slightly faster , but main for me is the fact the GTO is deffinitely a lot quieter.

the GTO was a great buy when it was around £155/160 , but looking at it now its started to close onto the £200 mark I'm not so sure.
