What's the deal with Graphics Cards at the moment.

Seems like AMD has been fairly aggressive with price reduction, are Nvidia likely to follow suit? New cards can't be too far off now, so perhaps pricing will get even more competitive.

Sorry for the generic thread that's probably been posted 100 times already. Just trying to weigh up my options, as i'm looking to spend around £200 on a card in the next couple of months.

I don't think new cards are that close tbh.

AMD/ATi have often been cheaper than Nvidia and at around the £200 mark your best bang for buck options is probably this if you can spend the extra:

Comes with free games so you could sell them to make it £200 easy :D

Yeah I think the 7950 is the best choice for me at the moment. Like you said I can sell the games to recupe some money. I have had my eyes on a 670, but it's probably not worth the extra £100 when using a 1080 monitor.

Reports as recently as yesterday speculated that Sea Islands (HD 8000 series) could arrive as early as Jan 2013.

Also that an 8850 might retail for 199$ and match GTX670 speeds.

Take with a large pinch of salt, but there are discussion threads around if you want to read them.
