£200 (ish) budget

Depends what your after.

Resolution of screen. Are you a fussy person whating the amazing grpahics or just best bang for buck but also being future capable?

Also what PSU?

PSU is the Corsair TX 650W

Graphics wise I would prefer quality over bang for buck, but i am open to either way

Screen res is 1920x1080

I would personally go with a gtx 470.

Currently there are three different ones on special offer:

The super overclock looks good, but is up to £40 more expensive then the others.

Your alternative is a 6870.

I have nothing bad to say about my 5870, very quiet (very quite) and cool running beast of a card. The 6870 is a little bit less beast but in a similar ball park.

My recommendation goes towards the 470, becuase I think it is better suited to the Dx11 games of tomorrow.

The 470 is up there with the 5870 (more or less) The 6870 and 470 are close, but the 470 come out on top over all.

If noise is an issue for you, then I would go 6870. If you want eyefinity then you may have to go with ATI as well.

If your not bothered about noise and want the most power for your £££ then 470!

470 perfomance is great just not the heat, noise and power requirments of the underlying chip which nvidia will have to update soon

460 has been updated and ideal if if you can or might do sli in the future,

5850/5870 or nice new 6870 should be under 200 and for the older ones less as special offers are made to eliminate any stock!

Another 5770 will give you >5870 performance but temps and noise increase as a result of having two cards in crossfire but its less work then buying a new card and selling your old one.

^^ He's on a P55 board, which means x16/x4 in crossfire - if it even has 2 pci-e slots - so 2x5770's wouldn't be a good option imho.

Even if the board did support crossfire in x8/x8, I'd still go for a single card as, depending on the motherboard, the top 5770 in a crossfire setup can get pretty hot, esp when they are overclocked.

A GTX 470 or even a 2nd hand 5870 ( both come in around £190 ) from the members market are worth considering.

If neither of the above, then follow Marine-RX179's suggestion & hold off to see how much the 6950 costs.
