200 player servers in San Andreas?

theres many servers with a cap of 200 players. I've got San Andreas on my steam from the christmas rockstar collection sale

, I was wondering if it was any good online I'll re-install, but cant ATM because in the country, slow net.

I dont know if sa-mp works on steam version. And you need the 1.0 exe iirc.

There is an unpatcher, but no idea if it works with the steam version.

Also 200players....think itll be a bit laggy, remember playing on 50-60player servers and it wasnt very smooth, doubt SA-MP net code/servers have improved that much in the last few years.

200 player servers are fine if you get an EU one, and a great laugh. I miss playing SA-MP - had over 300 hours on that bad boy.

samp is amazing fun, especially with friends. Though the majoirty of servers are laggy which is incrediably fustrating at times

It's not a purchase. It's a mod that gives it MP, same for GTA VC and GTA3, although they are dead now.

I've been debating whether to install SA again or not over the last couple of weeks. I played MTA SA for about 18 months and loved it. Is SA:MP any good? Last time I played it was full of haxxing retards - is it still like this?

Do the mods work with Vista? I only ever played it under XP.

If you're downloading it then you will probably need to downgrade it to 1.0 before you can mod it. IMO MTA:SA is the better of the two. There are a lot of hackers on it though. Especially on the free-roam servers.

Is it me, or is MTA SA (race) 1.1.1 now dead? The DM version of race sucks, and I can't seem to use a joypad. :confused:

Bit off topic, but can anyone get this working on Vista 64? I tried to install it but it says its incompatible with my version of windows. Tried doing the usual run as Administrator and 98/ME/XP compatability modes and still nothing.
