I have approx £200 to spend on a new Motherboard, CPU and Ram.

I know people might say to go AMD but i want to go Intel. What options would i have for Intel please?

I do game occasionally. COD Mainly. I have a PCIe card and everything else. Just need the Motherboard, CPU and Ram.

Please don't mention AMD as i want to go with Intel this time. Thanks Guys.

2 specs below that are just about around £200 ish, both include delivery price in it. Won't be able to go qaudcore for that price.

Older but still good Skt 775:

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-8500C5C) £70.99

Asus P5Q SE2 Intel P45 (Socket 775) DDR2 Motherboard £67.99

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail £54.99

Total inc Delivery : £205.13

Newer Intel cooler running and the way to go i think if buying all new stuff.

Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £98.00

Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard £74.99

Kingston HyperX 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3-10666CL7 1333MHz (KHX1333C7D3/2G) £43.99

Total Inc Delivery : £227.55

Looks good. How about 4g ram?

How is that CPU at energy efficiency?

4GB will take you 50 quid over your 200 budget. The CPU is 32nm so its the most energy efficient CPU currently available.

Of course, I am a naturally good mood person! :)

Some people don't like it though when I am in a good mood and try to make me in a bad mood, hmmm . . .

Anyway what you doing with your spec . . . obviously go with what you feel like but if you buy into LGA775 at the beginning of 2010 you will be peeled and dropped into a vat of lemon juice!:D

Go on cavonia get the Core i3 if thats what you want . . . I would like to think though that Intel will slash the price a little soon . . . things like that are always a bit pricier at launch . . . but your probably chompin at the bit to get a new system up and running! :p

Glad you went with the i3 choice. Can never work out why ASUS put the 24 pin ATX connector in such a awkward place on that P5Q !!!!???!!

Sorry for late reply to this, think the price went upto like £250ish all in with 4 gig of ram on that I3, but as u stated £200 i tired to get it closer to that.

So if u can strech to that then nice, as i think the I3 would be the better out of the 2 to go for.

Energy efficiency wise im no expert at all, but as its newer fab process (32nm) it will require far less juice to run it and also run a lot cooler.

Ok same as before but with 4 gig of ram instead of 2, ofcourse this could be tweaked with different ram so give or take its between £250-£270 all in.

Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £98.00
Patriot Sector 5 G Series 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800 1600MHz Dual Channel (PGV34G1600ELK) £86.99
Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H Intel H55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 microATX Motherboard £74.99

Total : £270.54

It really depends on your needs . . . I don't think Core i5 is a great pick myself but thats me . . . . if you need specific help with this part then get over to the CPU Sub-forum and have a read of what people are thinking/saying! :)
