Hi, my current monitor is about to go and after buying my daughter a new laptop, I'm not in a position to throw a lot of money at this. :( I'm a casual gamer and will generally only play Dark Souls or other similar games so an ultra fast panel isn't a requirement. I prefer image quality first as I do a lot of movie/TV watching and photo work. What's the best I can do on this budget for my needs?

Thanks guys. :)

I thought I might get away with 1440P? I don't mind dropping some settings as I don't game too much. The card has been clocked and it's backed up with a 4790K at 4.8GHz. I was thinking of pushing the boat out towards the UltraSharp U2515H if anyone has experience of it?

GTX970 is not going to cut it at 2560x1440 and at the cost of the UltraSharp U2515H you get almost a 1080p Gsync monitor that will serve you much better.
Also the UltraSharp U2515H is not gaming monitor.

TV/movies and photo work are the emphasis here not gaming. I'll only be playing Dark Souls III this year as far as AAA gaming goes and I'm sure I can get 30fps at 1440P with my 970. Image quality is the main concern above all else. Gaming-centric features are secondary.

If its image quality id go for a Dell U2515H,i have the bigger U2715H and its gorgeous ..i play Witcher 3,Dirt rally and lots of other titles..i find it fine for casual gaming..for tv/photo work i think the U2515H would be ideal

You wouldn't happen to have the measurements for the screen would you? I know the 25" is diagonal, but what are the actual height and width of the viewing panel?
