Looking to get a new cpu,i have around £200 to spend on the it.
I will be upgrading ish from a 2500k, i know it's not a huge leap, but the missus is getting my i5 to replace her aging phenom 2 955 :)

I do mainly gaming,a bit of encoding etc,and i'll probably want to overclock it a bit too.

After doing a fair bit of reading i'm struggling to choose between maybe a 4670k/3570k and possibly even a 3770k if i can stretch my budget slightly.
i know a 4670k will clock for clock be better than the 3570k,but in saying that it's hotter and possibly cant clock as high.
Any other options? and any advice would be great ;)

I know what you mean, but i'm not really upgrading for myself(well i am really hehe)
Mrs nicodemonizer is an avid gamer too,and she's still on ddr2 and phenom 2,so she's getting my hand me down 2500k(which has been fantastic btw)and z-68 mobo
so i'll be getting a cpu no matter what, there's no point in getting another 2500k if i have the opportunity to go for newer tech.
Hope that makes sense lol

dont really want to go 2nd hand tbh, i have seen a 3770k for less than £230 though, i wonder if i should just hang on for one of those :S but damn,i had my eye on that socket 1150 maximus formula(such a sexy board).
@xTommy92 i'll only be running single cards on it probably,i have a vapor-x 7970 atm which is more than good enough for me,i'm loving it,but if i do upgrade,it will be another single card,so bottlenecking shouldn't be an issue.
