£200 what to get

i have £200 to spend on a gpu what shall i get ?

i game at 1680x1050

At that res you will be more than fine with a 4890 or GTX 275.

I would cosider the Asus/Powercolour PCS 4890 or the XFX/Gainward 275.


Also no, CPU makes no differance

the 4890 was suggested more previousely due to it's amazing price differance to the 275 as the performance is almost identicle, also the 4870x2 was a lot cheaper than the 285/295.

Now however the prices are much closer, so it comes down to personal choice which company you go with.

The reason I suggest the XFX is it's a slightly overclocked card for very little extra compared to the card below it, also XFX are a good company. I would suggest the BFG card but they are either out of stock or on pre order, as they have a 10 year warrenty. No point spending more than £170 on a 275 though, not worth it.

If you want the XFX card then make sure you get a OcUK one as the warranty is direct with OcUK I think.

Anywhoooo, for reference, I reckon £200 is plenty for 1680x1050......4890, 275 or even newer 260 should be ample

well I say HD4890 plus some beer money left over or games money althrough I can't ignor the poor little GTX275
