Heya, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I've finally decided to get myself a very first 600. I love sport bikes, they're just sexy as hell and I've decided on getting either a GSXR or an ZX6R although due to my limited budget 2-3k I'm unable to get my desired 2009+ ZX6R and thus I'm trying to figure out wherever to get a GSXR 600 or a ZX6R both from around 2000-2005. Which one do you reckon would be more suitable for the ever so ****** UK roads? (Living in the biggest READ THE RULES also known as London)

I would star out the swearie unless you want a ban on your first post :p

Both brilliant bikes, the 03/04 ZX6R was a 636cc engine, so had a bit more power/torque over its rivals, in reality though your average rider would not notice any difference, the GSXR being newer would probably be at the top end of your budget and the ZX6 should easily be within your budget, choose the one you like the look of best and try and aim for one with as low a mileage as possible, enjoy your first sportsbike!

It's down to taste really. Havent heard anything bad about either bike. As already said you may well get bent over on insurance though

For £3000 I would sell you a very very nice 2004 R1 with gold Gilles rearsets, Yoshi exhaust and heated grips plus loads of extras. Much nicer than a 600 (I have owned a ZX-6R, CBR600RR, R6)

Includes Ohlins rear shock, Ohlins steering damper, Ohlins front forks, brand new rear disc and pads, fairly new chain and sprockets, done 22k miles.

I've had an 2005 ZX6R 636 for nearly five years now. It's a fantastic and well built bike, whilst still being comfortable. I've toured Scotland and Spain on it no problem, dumping the luggage and hitting the twisties are no bother. I've even done some fast twisties with the luggage on, that gets some funny looks.
