Ah Sad news, grew up with a massive love of 2000AD

"Everyone at 2000 AD and Rebellion is devastated to hear of the passing of Alan Grant.

Grant was one of his generation’s finest writers, combining a sharp eye for dialogue and political satire with a deep empathy that made his characters seem incredibly human and rounded. Through his work he had a profound and enduring influence on 2000 AD and on the comics industry."

I used to read a lot of Batman comics printed in the 1980s and 1990s and he was a regular writer. Always like his material therein.

Shadow of the Bat's The Last Arkham was particularly impressive.

I was lucky to meet Alan a few years ago. He was a very nice man. A brilliant, brilliant writer who wrote some of my all time favourite 2000AD stories. He’ll be missed

Another great 2000ad writer, I was lucky enough to be young when 2000ad was a real stand out among all the other dross. Most of his dredds have aged surprisingly well.

What a shame, for me, both him and Brian Bolland produced the stand out 2000AD stuff back in the seventies. I seem to remember getting him to sign a cursed earth covered 2000AD at the Forbidden Planet back when I was 8 or 9.
