the price it has cost me for this psu and cheaper underrated psu`s dont produce this whine
but this one does.......

i cant hear it when i have earphones on but when there off and the system is silent i can faintly hear it......

always makes me think something is wrong when i hear coil wine.

You wouldn't expect this to happen to expensive psu`s...
previous 1250w ocz xr psu did not produce any coil wine. and it was much much cheaper and was not nearly as much powerful as this psu + this psu has a higher rating gold vs platinum..

it does not bother me i just hope the coils are of equal quality between ones that make coil wine and ones that dont.

must be a reason why some coils wine and some dont.

Leadex stuff has never given me this trouble. Are you sure it's coming from the PSU? If it's under certain loads I would be inclined to say it's more a combination of things. If it's however whining at idle send it back.

your not using enough power if its screaming ;)

I have tested many of these PSU and not one whines. Currently we are stability testing two Supernova with these in both fine also. So not sure the issue at all. Reviewers who have had the unit also have had no issue with this.

Dont get me wrong mate the psu is freaking awesome and powerful...
and to be honest i cant hear the noise anymore, can you get coil whine when you first power on psu`s then after a few hours of gaming it can vanish ....

cause the coil whine was there when i first powered it up but now i cant seem to hear it :o weird indeed...

never the less awesome product.

got a Q for can i put another R9295x2 in my system ? or would the psu start to sweat lol, as i have a full overclocked 1150/1690 R9295x2 under watercooling with pump and 5 hdd`s and one ssd and sound card aswell as a few bluray writer and rom and all usbs being used with cpu 4.8-5.0 benching.
as i might be able to get another R9 soon very cheap when the R3xx hit.

actually how far can i push this psu have you tested this psu to see if it can sustain over 2000w continuously without breaking a sweat. what about 3x r295x2s lol

Pretty sure AMD Matt gave it a torture test with 4 x 290x and massively overclocked etc. it survived where every other PSU he had failed

I tested to 2650 and it was fine no issue. For you yes easy add another card. Many customers have run over 2k peak on this PSU without issues.

sweet so i have nothing to worry about
though i have a question on the 3.3+ voltage and 5+ voltages

in windows its showing as 5.010v on the 5v and 3.285v on the 3,3 voltages
and they go even lower when gaming.

why is the voltage quite low on those lines combined 120w only....
and on the 12 voltage line its showing in windows as 11.952v and when gaming its at 11.885v

is that bad cause with 1 R9295x2 if i put another in it will probably drop under the 10% + or - ratings.

i didnt think with 1 card you could even dent the voltages on this psu so why are they dropping ? im guessing though its normal .... but the 3.3 and 5v seems like the 3.3 on both is droping the most when gaming.
