2004 RSV Factory Talk to me!

just put a deposit on a 2004
04 rsv factory.

i had the old shape and i know the battery can be a problem with the starters clutches.

now i know this one has 0ed clocks a few time but claims 11k miles with histroy to back it up.

what should i look out for on this bike?

Hello,

I had an 00 Mille and then a 07 factory for 5 years. Both where trouble free.
People tend to have issues with the rear brake but then you will already know this having owned a mille. Once I put High temp break fluid in the rear brake was spot on.

Check if the swingarm has been replaced. These were subject to recall due to cracking.

It's not unknown for the stator to fail on these either, so check for any charging issues.

cheers guys, the bike is pretty spot on so far, i did 200 miles today. and il ride it to work tomorrow. il post some pics tmz.

so few things i have found.

alternator is not putting 60v ac over the 3 wires that is should do at 4k rpm so will need to repace that.

code 11 poped up today.
(cam shaft sensor)

so thats £250 down the drain but i do love the bike.
never had any problems with my Gen 1 but they are hit and miss when it comes to problems.
