Well, last time I brimmed the tank, a patch of diesel was below the car, thought it was the breather pipe but I did really fill the tank up so possibly down to too much fuel.

Just brimmed the tank again since and voila... Fuel leaking, and a fair amount.

So, won't be topping the tank up until fixed. But it seems I'm looking at around £500 for the work to replace the breather pipe?????

That's an insane amount.

Anyone got any information on this? I've not got warranty on the car so looks like I'll just have to brunt the cost.

Quick google suggests that it's very common on this age and range of cars. Also shows BMW are basically shrugging it off. Good luck! :p

Doesn't look that hard to do tbh, drop one side of fuel tank when it's low and swap them over. Seems there's a small hose connection that you want to make sure you don't break though.

Yea, been reading that, an official 'upgraded' line from BMW is circa £50. The work looks doable solo. But I'm not too sure I'd be comfortable doing it on just a jack/axle stands. Certainly not enough room for my big lump of a body.

My mate has a pit, which might prove useful in this job.
