Been looking to change my current car for a while and really liking the look of the above car in a local garage (not a BMW dealership). Car has done 46,000 and ad claims full BMW service history and has built in sat nav (would this be i drive?)

Anyway, I know the tax is going to be 460 per year which is affordable, mpg is probably going to be close to my current car (Toyota Celica VVTLI) and I would probably take out the BMW extended warranty which is around 41 quid a month.

Soooo, are there any reasons this is not a good idea? Car is for sale at just under 13k. Is there anything specific I should be looking for? I haven't had a test drive yet due to lack of time but I'm hoping to arrange one for the coming weekend

Edit:
To add, it's a manual box, coupe body.

Would that be run flats? Is it possible to fit non run flats to these without affecting warranty or making the car a death trap?

That'll be iDrive DVD-Based most likely. Where did you find one for that price though? I've had my eye on a 335i Coupe since a guy at work nearly bought one. None of the Edinburgh dealers have had any for less than £25k recently, everything else is diesel. So many 320d and 520d's for sale, it makes me sad. I was actually out at a BMW dealer the other day enquiring about them, apparently they're pretty rare up here (and I recall Fox saying they only brought 250 manual 335i's coupes to the UK). There was a fantastic M6 for less than £20k for sale though... om nom.

It's not an M sport, I really want something with slightly more forgiving suspension. Thanks for the advice guys, I'm still undecided so guess I need to get in one for a drive.

Does anyone know what the service costs and intervals are on these?

Does it? I'm sure I read a review that said it was amore comfy ride than the M Sport. Any idea what other differences there are between the SE and M sport, other than aesthetic.

Servicing is condition based, the i-drive will tell you when items are due. As has been mentioned the difference between the Coupe 335i M Sport and SE are only cosmetic. The SE comes with the M Sport suspension and sport seats.

It's metallic grey and yes has leather seats, just noticed it actually says sports leather seats.

I paid 560 quid for 2 RFT 19s on the front of my 330i the other day.

Thats for bridgestone recommended replacements. Was a bit stuck, as I had a got the error on idrive, then discovered a nail whilst away from home, so had to get them done sharpish. Was hoping to do a 4 wheel all round replacement to non run-flats, as apparently you should not mix and match the axels with different types.

The ride is harsh on the 19 with rfts, but its bearable in all but the worst potholes/bumps.

How do you find the 330i in terms of day to day running costs, the 335i claims an average of around 29mpg do BMW tend to be optimistic with their figures? I guess it's possible to check the cars average mpg through it's life with the idrive.. (Still not sure if this has idrive).

The trip computer on my 335i is reading just over 24mpg and thats driving mainly on rural A roads. You may get nearer the 30mpg that BMW quote if you do more motorway driving.

If the car you are looking at has Nav it'll have i-drive.

I get 25mpg with fast rural A roads and town driving. 35mpg is easily achievable on motorways - and even more if you set cruise to 65mph and drive well. IIRC, got 37.5mpg a couple of months ago on a 200mile trip, door-to-door.

I find my 330i is getting almost always around 27-29mpg to a tank (mixture of regular M25 commute and day to day driving). There are exceptions when I use up a whole tank mainly motorway (80mph on cruise) where I can get 35+ :)
