Ok im planning a revamp of my PC over xmas if i have the time and funds available.
My current psu is a Corsair HX 520W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply i bought in 2007. its currently powering a q6600 @3.2ghz, 6gb of ram (4 units), about 4 HDs and a 560TI.
Im planning od going to an i5 3570k OCed as far as i can using some form of water cooler (H60 maybe), 16gb of ram, dropping 2 of the mechanical raid drives for a 240gb sammy SSD and still using the 560TI until i feel flush enough to drop another few huindred on a GPU maybe around easter.
Is 520 watts enough for an i5?
Is a 2007 era PSU still going to be putting out 520 watts after 5 years of pretty much daily use?
If a PSU fails whats the odds on damage to other parts?
