The battery on my 2007 white MacBook has started to bulge meaning it does not sit in it's compartment properly and causes problems with the trackpad button. Although it still works (with less charge due to its age) I'd like to replace it. Apple charge ~£100 new but has anyone experience with cheaper OEM batteries? As the MacBook is quite old I don't want to spend a great deal on it.

Batteries are one thing I'd usually only buy from the original manufacturer, or a well respected third party brand. However, I picked up a Shinntto one for a 2006 white macbook who's original battery had effectively turned into a 10 minute UPS.

The fit and finish doesn't match up particularly brilliantly (seems a common complaint with all the third party ones) but other than that it seems fine and lasts a good few hours on a charge.

Only had it a few weeks though so a bit early to give it a glowing review :)

Have used the £20 ebay ones on a few Macbooks and seem ok to me, ordered another one yesterday as the exact thing as yours happened to my battery.
