2007wfp DVI gradients

I changed the connection to DVI and I noticed gradients now go black very suddenly. I've used VGA all my life so I'm not sure if this is normal for DVI, but basically the gradient, instead of going from white to black smoothly, it stays lighter for longer and consequently then goes black very quickly near the end.
Anyone else have this?

probably something to dow with contrast/brightness needing calibrating properly since these options are often fixed using DVI....you may need to fiddle with OSD or graphics card settings, but should be able to get it looking better easily enough i'd say. maybe try some software calibration programs too

Try brightness 50. Also check the screen is in 'desktop' mode (under image modes in the OSD) and check colour is set to PC Colour. I found virtually no discernable difference when switching between VGA and DVI with both connected, so I suspect it's down to monitor or video card settings as Baddass says.
