2007wfp: Orange

Yes it has the orange cast all the time. Even my skinned taskbar, which is meant to be dark grey, is quite orange now.
I have another problem; the sides of the screen have a kind of gradient - so for e.g. on a white background I can see it fading into grey on the sides.
Ok there is another issue
I have some screen retention sometimes - will this become less frequent over time?
On a side note; I managed to use Adobe Gamma to adjust the colour to an acceptable standard - but the gamma is not used during games or video playback; is there a resolution to this?

And they will be changing it for a new one soon 
Ok I got my replacement... but it's still orange. Even after spending a long time adjusting, I can't get a true grey (I'm comparing to my 1yr old Dell Ultrasharp 17"). I have a theory that the backlight is actually tinted orange
I'm actually using VGA. Should I be using DVI?
Edit: Well I guess it could just be that my old monitor was tinted blue
I mean, even the post box around this form used to look grey on my old one - but as it turns out, the hex is a yellow colour, and it does appear yellow on this 2007wfp.
Btw, what brightness does everyone put their 2007wfp on? Also, why is there no contrast setting when using DVI?
