2007wfp upgrade?

Have an old dell 2007wfp, and for the longest time now i've thought it's been giving me eye strain. Not sure why, but i'd like to upgrade a bit anyway.

So i'm thinking about the dell U2312HM because the dell monitors are very sturdy, just don't want to be out of £160 and I could have done better with my old monitor.

Mainly use it for browsing and casual gaming.

The U2312HM is better than the 2007wfp in every way, right??
 
If yours is as old as mine (about 6 years) then I reckon you have probably noticed that the colours aren't as uniform or as vibrant as they once were which could explain why you eyes might be straining a bit (for me the colours to the left of my screen are now darker then the right hand side).

I can't see a 2312HM being much of an improvement over a brand new 2407wfp but put it next to your old 2407wfp it would highlight the areas of the 2407wfp which were beginning to deteriorate. It might take a while getting use to running at 1080p though! I don't think I could handle going to 1920x1200 to 1080p and using a smaller screen, personally I'm looking purchasing a X-STAR DP2710 direct from Korea.

It's a mere 2007wfp, not a 2407. 20inch version from about 5 years ago now, so the res will actually be an upgrade!
