Looking to get a new monitor for gaming, watching DVDs and in the future playing a 360. Hopefully going to get before end of next term, i would prefer to spend <£250 but can save a bit longer and stretch to £300. Narrowed it down to the Samsung SM-206BW or 226BW or the Dell 2007WFP. Obvousily the Dell has better connectivity but the contrast ratio is quite a bit lower than the Samsung and the response time seems slow.

The Samsung uses HVA panel right? Do either of these have 1:1 pixel mapping? Should i wait a little longer and get the Dell?

I tried the dell E207wfp which i imagine is similar to those others you said and it was ok but terrible viewing angles, top of the screen always looked darker for this reason too, move your head abit and you saw the difference in quality i couldn't get on with it in the end, rather than get a tn panel again i thought i try somet different.

I got the 2007wfp and well happy best move i did, the panel is rated at 8ms by Phillips who make the screen for it, i can't see any probs when i play the 360 through it and pc games, great panel well worth the extra money and the best bit you can view from any angle and the image never loses quality, if thats important to you get this imo.
